Marijuana and the Sense of Yourself

If someone acts phony, it's easy to pick up on his/her non-genuine characteristics under the influence of marijuana. It's also simple to pick up on my own phony personality traits after smoking this wonderful plant. In high school I thought marijuana just made me paranoid, but is this really true? I now believe marijuana makes me more aware. When marijuana makes me feel uncomfortable about the way I am acting, it's easy to put the blame on paranoia. In reality, it's not paranoia. The marijuana is telling me, "You're not acting true to yourself. I'm going to make you recognize your faults until you start being real." I didn't completely understand how marijuana was working to change my personality until I read Joan Bello's book, The Benefits of Marijuana - Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual. She discusses how marijuana enhances our senses:
! nAs the body's workings can become more harmonious with marijuana, the functioning of the five senses can be noticeably improved. This naturally occurs as the organs of sense are fueled with more oxygenated blood, as well as being less constrained or constricted. The eyes, the ears, the skin, the nose, and the taste buds are supplied with more and better "fuel" during the marijuana experience. There is nothing mysterious or mystical about the subjective feelings that all marijuana users report, such as: finer appreciation of visual and auditory stimuli (art and music); more enhanced sense of taste and appetite; greater feelings of tenderness and eroticism (sex is better); and a deeper and more insightful understanding of all experience, including our own thoughts and emotions. This enhanced capacity of all the body's sense organs (including the sense one has of him/herself) accounts for the mental interpretation of intense perceptions, known as the "high." I would be interested in stories of how marijuana has helped use rs recognize their own faults and the faults of others. Also, I would like to hear how marijuana has enhanced your senses. Re: Marijuana and the Sense of Yourself

hey, in recent years i have become seriously sensitive to herb to the point that i cant smoke it regularly. for a long time ive had that 'inner tension' feeling and often really bad paranoia. im starting to sort through my personal problems and 'phoniness' now and im wondering if your paranoia went away after you sorted through your own issues. i want to smoke up for the rest of my life - is there any hope?!?
